The 21st International Workshop on Teamworking (IWOT) was held in Trondheim 7-8 September. Over the two days, almost 50 attendees from over 20 different universities and organizations participated. The workshop was hosted by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, SINTEF Raufoss Manufacturing, and supported by the research program SFI Manufacturing.
The workshop kick-started with an inspiring key note by Georg von Krogh from ETH Zürich, where he discussed coordinating knowledge creation in multidisciplinary teams. After lunch on Thursday Torgeir Dingsøyr, from NTNU and SINTEF, hold the second key-note. He discussed teamwork in software development, introducing the audience to agile methodology and explaining how the software industry is using teams to boost flexibility and performance.
The rest of the workshop was conducted in two parallel sections. Among the topics discussed were Lean in Nordic countries, teamwork and innovation, leadership, multidisciplinary teams and collaboration. After day one of the conference, a social program was arranged for the attendees. We listened to a beautiful mini-concert with the female choir, Embla, followed by a delicious meal at Havfruen restaurant. Luckily, the weather showed Trondheim from its very best side.
